He was previously a National Commissioner of Correctional Services. In his dealings with the broad community and his engagement with NGO’s, Vernie was a model of courtesy, helpfulness and dedication. He epitomised what is best about our public service. His death is a great loss to the broader community. We wish to express our condolences to his family, his colleagues and his staff.
