The Helen Suzman Foundation is delighted to announce that former Public Protector, Advocate Thuli Madonsela, will deliver the 2018 Helen Suzman Memorial Lecture.

In a judgment today (24 April 2018), the Constitutional Court ruled in favour of the Helen Suzman Foundation in the Foundation’s case against the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Yesterday evening, the Helen Suzman Foundation’s Justice Project was recognised for its excellence at the 2018 Gauteng Premier Service Excellence Awards. The award was received at a vibrant ceremony hosted by the Premier of Gauteng, Mr David Makhura, in Pretoria.

The facts surrounding mismanagement and corruption at Eskom are of paramount public interest and constitutional significance, and involve the rule of law at its most fundamental levels.

The Helen Suzman Foundation notes the judgment in the case brought by Corruption Watch, Freedom under Law and CASAC against the President, the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Mr Shaun Abrahams and the National Prosecuting Authority.

The Helen Suzman Foundation’s (“HSF”) appeal in its case against the Judicial Service Commission (“JSC”) regarding the obligation to disclose the JSC’s deliberations on judicial appointments will be heard in the Constitutional Court on Thursday, 31 August 2017.
