Submission on the Draft Broad-Based Socio-Economic Empowerment Charter for the Mining and Minerals Industry, 2018

The Helen Suzman Foundation believes that in order to achieve the objectives of the Draft Mining Charter, especially to broaden black ownership and employment in the mining sector, the focus needs to be redirected at making use of a company tax and profit-based royalty system so as to address government requirements and at the same time to develop an efficiently run, sensibly regulated and growing mining industry.
